My Life. My Experiences. My Love. My Words.

I Miss You…

We all miss something or someone or some time or some place or some experience. There’s a hole somewhere. A place that can only be filled with memories or imagination. I know a lot of times I’ll say I miss being a kid. And it’s not that I can’t run around or go climb trees or explore, it’s just that I make excuses that I’m tired, I want to sleep in, that’s private property, I don’t want to get hurt, I don’t have time, my knee is acting iffy, etc. It’s sad that I somehow deny myself those simple, childish joys. I feel the urge to get out and do more, but it’s so nice just relaxing in the hammock with my book or sitting on the back porch with Sausage, whose favorite thing to do is relax:

That’s Sausage. I really need to leash train that little beast so I can drag her around with me in the great outdoors. I’ll let you know if that is even a possibility. 😂

But back to missing things.

So what has brought about this sort of laziness? I miss the never ending curiousness and energy I once had. I think once you get to my age it’s not that you’re old, but it’s more that you’re well aware time is actually pretty short. I’ll be thirty-eight this year, and yeah, I know, to some people that’s not old, that’s very true. I’m not old per se, but I am old enough to understand I’m not young anymore. I’m old enough to understand that life is short, and I need to spend time with the ones I love before time runs out. That also means I understand I have a limited amount of time to try things I’ve never done and enjoy things I love to do. Still, I don’t do them (not all of them anyway). And I know I’ll miss them if I let them slip away.

It is a curious thing to try to understand why these choices are made. It sort of circles back to my post about those super go go go people. It’s like they totally understand time is short and are doing everything they can to fill it. Then there are those people who really just don’t gaf. They let time go by and, well, maybe it doesn’t matter if they don’t care. Maybe that’s just one of the “keys” to getting through life happily (or just getting through it). You either understand and act upon squeezing as much life in as you can, or you go through life not caring so it doesn’t bother you? Am I an in-between-er? Is that even a category? Everything is categorized these days anyway, so I may as well stick a label on it right? But still, missing things. I keep missing my point here and drifting.

Missing things! I miss the youth I used to have. I miss the memory skills I used to have. I miss friends who were toxic to my life, and even though they were toxic, they were still a part of who I have become. I miss the family members in my life who are no longer with me. I miss the freedoms of being a kid and not having to adult. I miss summer vacations with cousins, and just being able to actually go on one. I miss the newness of experiences growing up. I miss you. I miss me.

So here I go with another balance spiel. I keep getting myself stuck in the past at times. I know this doesn’t do me any good. Reminiscing about the past only makes you sad. It makes you long for things that are no longer obtainable. Memories, good or bad, can have a negative affect the more you dwell on them. Even the good memories can make you begin to wish for them again and distract you from experiencing good things right in front of your face. This seems to be a recurring issue with me. Maybe it is with everyone? Maybe some people are just better at jumping back into reality before the past begins to take over their thoughts? Here I go again creating more questions and digging deeper into something without actually fixing it. But maybe that’s what I need to do to be a better me? Maybe this sort of inner reflection is what I need to see me more clearly? To realize that I don’t need to miss who I was? Maybe I need to see past the past, and take joy in who I am becoming? Back in the times that I miss, all those experiences have helped shaped me into me. They helped shape you into you. And do I miss your younger you? Do I miss your not-as-wise-as-you-are-now you? Not at all! So why should I dwell on missing the old me? Well, the younger me, really, but you know what I mean.

Maybe this post can help us both look forward to what we will become. Maybe that’s the key to motivation and living life to the fullest? And maybe you have to take the time to miss the past, because it helps you plan and get excited about the future? Obviously I can’t answer that, but I think I’m pretty good at the introspection part of it all. So, me and balance. Gotta find the balance. Gotta enjoy the now. The past is done. It can’t be changed, and even if it hurts, it’s still there. The past can teach us so many lessons if we choose to learn from it, but it can also rip us apart and drag us down to live it over and over again and miss our now. Our own sort of Hell if you will.

Anyway, I’m rambling. Plus I’ve noticed my posts are sort of boring lately. I keep doing this look inward thing, and I can only imagine how exciting it is to continuously turn the mirror back at myself/yourself whatever. I’ll post something upbeat again soon I promise! It’s almost my mini-me’s 17th (yeah OMG!) birthday, and there are some good time’s ahead! Oh! I got to see the Alamo for the first time and cruise San Antonio’s river walk a little bit this past weekend! Yeah. I know. I live in Texas and hadn’t seen any of that yet. It’s a big state dammit!!! I’ve been pretty blessed to see some other things in my life that many will never see, so I’m just checking off some sites from my to-see list! I’m sure there will be some more San Antonio exploring and some river floating in my near future. Maybe even some peace and quiet and relaxation. I’ll let you know! Til then, ciao!

Let Me (Re)Introduce Myself…

Hi!

My name is Bonnie. I am a lover of the ocean, the mountains, the desserts, the forests, the grasslands, you name it! I am a bit of a sun whore who will probably end up dying from it (I know, terrible). I love food! I love cooking food! I love eating food! I love reading and writing and painting and speed skating and stand up paddling and climbing and hiking and drinking and challenges and cryptograms and making people smile and my daughter and my mom and family and friends who are family and friends who are friends. I realized this list could go on for far too long, so I’ll just stop there. But I’m pretty sure you get the idea. I do and love and enjoy a lot of things in life!

I am a believer in balance. I don’t necessarily follow any religions, but I do have my beliefs. I was raised Christian, and grew up going to small (like seriously teeny tiny) Christian schools until high school. Lemme tell ya! That was a shock to the system! I had never seen a locker before! No joke! My classes had maybe up to 21 people in them. Then I go to a school where I have to change rooms, and there are 300+ fellow classmates. It was strange not knowing everyone in my class or classes or anything. This was the end of my innocence for sure!!!

So, graduated high school with honors. Failed at my first attempt at college. Joined the Army. Got out of that early (story for another time). Married. Child. Divorced. Single mom. School from time to time. Married. Moved to Hawaii. Moved back to Texas. Divorced. Single mom. Child moved in with her dad. Alone. Stupid boyfriends. Lived in car. Lost friends. Moved into apartment. Really stupid boyfriend. Child moves back in. No more stupid boyfriend. Finally earned my AAS degree! Moved with child. Single mom again. Awesome boyfriend who was my first love from high school!!! Not joking!!! Thought he was dead honestly. 20 year HS reunion had me Google his name. There he was. Messaged him on FB. He messaged back. C’est la vie! Due to his request for privacy, I won’t be writing much directly about him. That’s about all you’re getting for now. 😉

Life is crazy for sure!!!!!

So, hi everyone! Even people who know me probably don’t know all of that, and it’s fun to share my randomness. I think that’s part of being human, passing down stories in general. Not that knowing more about me will do your life really any good, but it’ll help give you a base for any of my future posts. I had mentioned I believe in balance. That is a very huge part of who I am. Future posts will probably involve the misadventures of me trying to find my balance. I will do my best not to bore you, and fair warning: I have a crude sense of humor, and I swear a lot at times (especially if I’ve had a couple of adult beverages before I decide to write, or during, whatever), and I just want to make sure you know that before you get sucked in.

With that, I will try to get on here and write more often. This will be a sort of therapy for me like journaling. I may be brutally honest in some posts. Others might be pretty meh. The future holds so much adventure that I can’t wait to share with you!!!! Let’s see where we go!

-Bonnie 💙

That is my mini me. Life would be boring without her!!!! Love my amazing Angel Pie!!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙

Yes. I do realize that is missing an “a”.

It’s a Little Bit Funny…

…this feeling inside. But seriously though, isn’t it?

I’ve had a lot of changes in my life over the past few months. None of them bad, that I can recall. I have been anointed with amazing luck at this point in my life. All of it unexpected. All of it amazing!

I would go into more detail, but it’s not quite the right time yet to discuss everything. As much as I have ranted in the past and discussed personal matters, I am trying to conduct myself in a perceptively more mature way. What I will tell you though, is that the heart is an amazing muscle!!!! Don’t ever underestimate it! I say this to you as much as I say it to myself. It has helped me survive over the years, and even when I think it couldn’t break any further, it continues to beat and to thrive. I’ve always promoted loving with all you have. Sometimes that is extremely difficult to do, but what’s the point of life if you don’t love it?

During spring break a couple of weeks ago, I took my amazing mini me, aka Angel Pie, camping for a couple of nights. She and I had never done that as just the two of us. We organized all the camping stuff, grabbed my two tents (we weren’t sure which one we’d have to use), the hammocks, the sleeping bags, all that fun stuff! This had to have been the most organized camping trip ever! We stopped at the store on the way out to Mineral Wells State Park. Living in Fort Worth, Mineral Wells always seemed so damn far away! I pulled up Waze, and MWSP was only 35 minutes from where I currently live. We were almost disappointed how close it was!

They had one spot available when I had gotten online to reserve the spot, and it was only for one night. We were at the rv portion. Which was totally fine. We had no one across from us, no one near us, and it was awesome! We got there early to set up our site and then went out looking for a place to hike and check out for the afternoon. They have climbing there!!!! We decided to free climb around the area. Lots of really cool spots to climb up and down and get into precarious situations. It was a blast!!!!! That evening we get back to the site, ride our longboards around the camp circle (which was perfect from where we were at since it was mostly downhill), and we got the hammocks hung up and the fire going. It was a beautiful night!!!!

The next day we knew we had to pack up, which sucked, because we really want d to stay another night. No open spots for the second night and no cancelled reservations. Bummer! But!!!! They had primitive camping available. We have never done this, mind you. We have never hiked out to camp. Ever! So, we decided to just go for it! Why not?! Let’s just say we fell in love!!! Yes. It was just one night, but it was greatness!!! We filled up my Camelbak, grabbed a snack, bungee corded the crap out of our hammocks and sleeping bags, took the couple of essentials just in case, and headed out. Now, we were exhausted from spending the day climbing and hiking, and we decided to hike some more. We got to our spot, hung up the hammocks, and were worn the fuck out. We basically relaxed the rest of the evening.

The fun part of this is how you don’t realize how cold it can get sleeping in a hammock. Our first night was in a tent, on the ground, with mats under us. I hadn’t planned on sleeping in my hammock at all, so I never packed up my over quilt. Never crossed my mind! I woke up in the middle of the night to my mini me asking me for my sweatshirt. I informed her I was currently wearing it, and I suggested she join me in my hammock (thankfully I have a double and a couple singles, I brought the double, whew). The hammock sleeping was super comfy until then. But it was much warmer!!! Still had a blast!!!

We waited the next morning until the other campers packed up and headed out. We wanted to be lazy and enjoy our time out there. It was amazing! We had a nice little hike back, got some coffee at the camp store, and went out climbing one last time. We were so tired and worn out, but we had so much fun! We met and climbed around with a family that we met out there. Super sweet people!

What a great short trip we had!!! Even though we weren’t far from home, it made us want to do more. So now we hope to start camping over the weekends when we can and when the weather will hopefully be nice. We probably need to practice a bit more before we do any crappy weather camping. Just sayin.

Anyway, I thought that would be fun to share with you. I hope you have an amazing weekend enjoying whatever it is you enjoy doing.

Love,

Bonnie

Me and the mini on the first day!

Awesome pic the mini got! These smelled absolutely amazing!!!!!

The view was incredible!!

We had a blast taking photos on the rocks!

It’s Something…

Yes.  I realize it has been a few months since my last post.  I have to admit, my writing might become a tad boring, but I’ll let you be the judge of all that.  I am thinking I need to update the blog since it no longer involves living in my vehicle. So where should I begin?  Should I start off with the good or the bad?  The happy or the sad?   How about I jut start with something?

So, the holidays have come and gone.  We have gone through Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas, New Year, and today, Groundhog Day.  Early Spring has been predicted if you weren’t in the know.  Keep up with the times people!  😉   Although here in Texas we have been having springlike weather for a while now, and I am really wishing it would be cold.  I mean, I love the warmth and the sun and all, but I have some really awesome boots that I would like to wear for a couple months.  Ridiculous.   Anyway, so I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season filled with love and family and happiness and joy.  I am still with the same incredible and wonderful guy that I have written about.  He has requested that I not bald on about his personal life, and I have agreed, but I will have to mention him from time to time since he is a part of my life.  I think he’s ok with that as long as I spare any details.  Let me just say this: he’s pretty fucking awesome, and I love the shit out of him!!!  😍😍😍😍😍

In other news, work he kept me busy.  I still pretty much do randomness, but that’s ok.  For now.  Maybe I don’t want to necessarily specialize in something, but then again, maybe I do. Maybe I need to. Maybe I need to broaden my horizons. Learn something new in the industry.  Not like you don’t learn something new nearly every day doing what I do, but I like to learn randomness everyday regardless.  One can never learn too much!  Life is full of so much information that it would be a shame to waste the opportunity.

The mini me is doing extremely well.  She had her first winter guard competition a couple weekends ago, and they won first place!  So proud of her and all the girls!  They have their second one this weekend, and I am excited to see them in their costumes since they didn’t have them for the first one.   Should be pretty cool!  She also has a new boy interest in her life.  I continue to remind her that she has time, and that she still has to keep school and colorguard as her priorities.  She understands, but I also know that the closer they get the harder it is to keep your concentration.   She will learn.  Everyone does.  And let me tell you, the struggle is real!

Spring break is coming up next month, and I couldn’t be more excited!!! We are heading out to Angel Fire, NM for a few days!!!  It’s my man’s family’s annual vacation, and the mini and I get to go.  What’s even more exciting is that one of the mini’s best friends gets to come with us!!!!  That makes me super happy since she will be entertained and get to hang out with someone her own age.  That will make the whole trip so much better for her, plus I love hanging out with those two, and they are great at making me laugh.   Yay!!!!

Other than all that I am getting back into a gym routine after being lazy a couple months and being sick for one of those.  I didn’t really work out for a while there and enjoy far too much of the good the holidays offered.  But let me tell you, it was delicious and almost worth it!  Sadly I need to drop some weight again since I gained about 16 pounds.  Yeah. Yikes!!!!  So I am back at the attempting to eat healthy and work out at five a week.  Wish me luck!

On that note, I am trying to keep my eyes open and not pass out.  So now I am going to pass out.  I hope you enjoyed the quick blurb about the happenings in my life.  I have a ton more to share, but it’ll have to wait until tomorrow or something.  Have a good night and sweet dreams.  Ciao!

-Bonnie ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Moving Day!!!!!!!

Hi!!!!  I know!  It’s been forever!  I know you missed my random updates.  😉

I have a lot of news to share with you!  Today is moving day!!!  I found an apartment about three weeks ago right before I left for a week long trip to Denver for work and play.  On top of that I had decided to play my hand at dating again.  It has been a bit insane for me lately to say the least!  Guess I should start somewhere near the beginning.

You already know I was searching for an apartment, and it was stressful as all hell.  So I gave it another quick shot on a Saturday afternoon.  Checked out one.  Way too much for the piece of shit it was. So nope on that one!  Checked out another.  Nope!   Checked out another.  Hmmmmm.  Liked that one. Went to a place I had already been to to compare, but the closest move in date wasn’t until October, sooooooooo. Went back to the one I liked and snatched it up!  More than I wanted to pay, but it will be my space again. I have missed having a place to call my own. I can’t wait!!!!  Although I am moving this weekend in 103+ degrees.  I hired movers, because I don’t want to be the cause of death for people I care about.  Did I mention this thing is on the third floor?  Yep!  Movers!

So dating had been interesting. Lots of one nighters.  Not what you think!  Dinner/drink dates.  Good grief!  Even thought I had a potential second dater until he gave me some family bs story and cancelled on me.  So, I was all set to go to an event by myself last night and found a last second date to join me.  I mean, why the fuck not?  Ticket would have been wasted otherwise.  So yeah.  I should have just gone alone.  It would have been more fun!  Oh well.  Finally got to meet my coworker’s fiancé though, and she was awesome!!!!!  Total sweetheart!  They make a super cute couple!!!!  My hope is renewed!

Work has been going well. We have a huge project that we’ve been working on in Denver. So I got to drag out intern to Denver to do some wiring and testing.  It was great!  Of course, I am used to traveling alone, so I was super stoked after I dropped him of at the airport and then I was free to enjoy CO through the weekend.  Woohoo!!!!  Hit up five microbreweries and did some hiking and some exploring.  I had so much fun!!!!!!  I will turn every business trip into a mini vacation when possible. I love to travel and don’t get to do it much on my own.  Hey!  Plane ticket is paid for already.  All I have to do is cover hotel and car and food for the extra days.  Can’t beat that deal!!!!

The mini me starts high school soon!  So insane!!!!  This past week was her first venture into summertime band practice. She is super excited about their halftime theme, and I can’t wait to see it!!!!!  So proud of my munchkin!  Although she’s going through a height challenge at the moment.  She keeps wishing she was taller.  I told her it’s better to stay where she’s at, because she’ll never find a guy to date who’s taller than her when she’s in heels.  The struggle is real people!!!!!  All of my current matches are 5’8″.  Seriously.  Wtf?!

Anyway, I am off to train this morning.  Then I pick up my beautiful angel, and we are going to get my keys to my place, and then we are going to start moving some stuff!  Yay!!!!!  I promise I won’t wait so long between updates again.  Sorry.  It has been busy busy busy.

Love you!  Ciao for now!
Got an office again!!!!

Hiking Garden of the Gods!!!

Just for fun!!!!

Just Another Day Not In Paradise…

Living in Texas you know that Spring brings with it rain and storms and tornados and lots of wind.  We have been going through a pretty bad drought the last few years, and lake levels had been getting lower and lower and well, you get my point.  This Spring has brought so much rain that lakes are finally reaching and surpassing their normal levels!!!  Yay!!!!  But it keeps raining.  There are still clouds and gray skies and storms and uck!  I’m not complaining, we need all this rain, but come on.  Let us have some sunshiney days already!  Again, not complaining.  My mood just enjoys the sunshine a hell of a lot more than the dull gray that has been looming.  :-/

Spring also brings with it baseball season!!!!  Woohoo!!!!  I love going back to baseball games, and of course my favorite team is the Rangers!!!!  I’ve been to three games so far with a fourth one planned two weeks from today.  Heck!  I might go to another one next week for shits and giggles!!!  My game attendance doesn’t even compare to my best friend’s who has been to at least six or seven games so far.  Heck!  Two this week alone!  So much fun!!!!

Finally picked my bike up from the shop this week after leaving it there for a tune up and new cables nearly three months ago!  Took it out for a nice spin on Tuesday!  It was actually cold out!  Ok.  So not really cold per se, but it felt cold enough!  I think it was around 71 or something.  I know I know!  Not cold!  But this is someone who has already adjusted to the warmer temps of the upper eighties dammit!  Holy F!  The sun is shining right now!!  Please stick around!!!!!

Anyway, as I had mentioned before, I decided against renting that room to instead opt for living with my parents.  Not something I am proud of, but it’s far too hot in the car at night, and it is what it is.  I enjoy getting to spend the extra time with family.  There’s only so much time you get with them in this one shot at life.  🙂  I am lucky that I live so close by.  An hour drive is really nothing when I think about the 7 hour flights from Hawaii to get back to the mainland to see everyone.  But I do miss living in paradise.  Every.  Single.  Day.  And one of these years I will get back out there!  Not just to visit, although I do plan on hopefully taking the mini me out there next summer.  She misses it too.  Now that she’s a few years older we can do more hiking and snorkeling and stuff like that.  I’m excited!  A year away, but it’s something to definitely look forward to!

Today work had a luncheon for a girl who is moving on to bigger and better things.  There was even money put into a gift card for her!  I was asked if I would like to contribute.  Nope! Was I going to the luncheon?  Nope!  Do I really give a shit?  Nope!  Do I even like this girl?  Nope!  Let’s just say she said some rude things about me thinking I wasn’t there to overhear.  She’s not on my favorites list.  Fake!  So I am happily sitting outside in my car, alone, and enjoying hearing the birds sing and writing on my blog.  I could be taking a nap, but this seems far more productive.  🙂

Anyway, I just thought I would write a quick blurb today of randomness.  Daydreaming about baseball and beer and paradise. Also dreaming about the puddles drying the F up so that I can get my skate on again!!!!!  This is just ridiculous!  Alright!  Enjoy your day and your week!  Ciao for now!

-Bonnie

Thinking about getting one of these.  Thoughts?  Would love to hear them!

Got these about a week and a half ago!  Stupid Fitbit left marks on my wrist, but oh well.

And here are some random funnies!

Vaginas Suck!  Sometimes.  And Some Other Things…

So!  This post is for the ladies!  For the most part anyway. It is actually the product of a conversation I had with a friend earlier today, and she suggested I write about it.  So guess what!  I am!  For the guys who read this shit, you might feel at times, how can I put it, uncomfortable?  You might learn something.  Who knows!  You may find a great deal of humor in this one!  Hopefully the women reading this will see the humor!  Please see it!  😉

Some of us are currently, have, will be, have yet to, or will never go through again the joys of being a woman.  Every.  Single.  Month. Or like some, once every three months, or six months, or sporadically.  Now I won’t go into details, but I am pretty sure you are on the right track with what I am referring to.  Thank you Auntie. We know you love to visit, but we wish your visits weren’t so frequent and annoying.  It isn’t just the inconvenience of your visit, it’s the hormonal insanity you put us through!  The uncontrollable urge to want to eat everything!  The crazy sudden outbursts of anger due to the lack of patience!  The random crying during sappy commercials!  The insecurity.  The bloating. The sleepiness.  The headaches.  The discomfort.  The list goes on and on.  For some it is a walk in the park. For others it is hell.  Pure hell.  Picture this. You’re sitting around after eating a huge meal, and what’s that?  You’re still hungry?  Seconds please!  Then!  You need something sweet!  Bag of peanut butter cups?  Gone!  Glass of wine?  That bottle was excellent! Get my point?  And even after that you could still probably eat that half a cake sitting in the fridge.  On top of that, while eating until your stomach could quite possibly explode, that damn ASPCA commercial comes on!  Damn you Sarah Mclachlan!  Damn you sad animals with the big eyes!  Damn you all!!!  Catch my drift?

That’s not the only reason why vaginas suck at times.  You’d think that’s enough, but wait!  There’s more!  Take the workplace for instance.  You work in a very male dominated field.  You work with a bunch of guys.  Your sense of humor is probably far worse than theirs, but can you crack the same kind of jokes?  Oh hell no!  While the boys can crack jokes laced with immature, sexual humor, you do it and they look at you like you just said the words vaginal discharge. Yeah.  That face.  It is a gross word pairing, but I am just using it as a reference.  Let’s face it, no one likes to actually talk about THAT!  Then you complain about something or someone, and it is automatically assumed you are just bitching.  Whining.  Complaining. On the rag.  You name it. Automatically labeled as hormonal. Never fails.  No matter how much like one of the guys you may think you are, you still have a vajayjay, and it can never measure up in the length department.

Now picture you work in a female dominant company. Oh the cattiness!  Not only does everyone sync up like a Fitbit to Bluetooth, but then you’re all hormonally out of whack!  Being bitchy and being catty really are two different things, but they aren’t separated by much.  Catty is a bit more behind the back.  They are the things you say to others about someone ranging from how much something is not in their job description to how that new girl’s haircut makes her look like a boy. Shit like that.  The bitchiness?  The things you say to that person.  To their face. That’s being a bitch.  And we ladies are guilty.  You would think we’d unite over our shared joys of reproductive organs, but nope.  It’s like we are constantly in some sort of competition for what we don’t know, and we can’t help it.  It just is.  It just happens.  Vaginas suck.

Although there are plenty of times when they don’t.  I’m not going into any details.  Ladies, take a moment and think about those joys.  Aaaaaahhhhhh.  Much better.  🙂  Now quit bitchin about my lady post!  I kid I kid!   We ladies are pretty kick ass, and we know we are.  We definitely don’t need dingleberries to prove it!  Onto the other things…

So I decided not to rent that room.  There are a few reasons as to why, but it will just be better all around if I don’t.  I will continue with my original plan of back and forth between my mom’s and dad’s.  It will be better for the mini me as well since she will be close to her friends over the summer.  Definite plus!  This also means that my current living quarters will be moved out of my car in order to use it as it is intended.  Basically, I’ll be able to shuffle teenage girls around as needed.  Not a bad thing!

Training has been going well.  Workouts have been changed up this month, and even though I am supposed to throw in a couple days of HIIT training a week on my off days, I have been entirely unmotivated to do it.  I have just been so damn tired the past couple weeks, and I know I need to get my ass in gear!  I don’t know why I am being so lazy with this, but I really need to be running every day at lunch again. At least a walk or something!  But I don’t wanna!  I know I should!  But I’m not.  I’ll get back into it.  Just currently in a bad slump.  I’ll pull through I hope.  Words of encouragement are welcome!!!!  🙂

Anyway, that’s the sort of the randomness that’s going on in my life.  I was asked why I was single by the old guy I spoke to about renting the room. I was also told I was a strange woman for not wanting a man to pay for everything and be taken care of.  Yeah.  Guess I’m strange.  No wonder I’m single!  Hahahahaha!!!!

Alright!  I am off to bed!  And I got some more art done.  Nighty night!!!

-Bonnie

For My Angel Pie…

This post is for you, sweet girl!  As much as I brag about how awesome you are, or however many silly stories I share about your inherited grace, it’s always nice to remind you of how much you are loved.  You are such a beautiful, intelligent and strong young lady, who occasionally walks into doorways.  You are amazing to watch when performing your colorguard routines, and I can’t wait to hear how you do at tryouts next week!  I know how much work you put into getting better and better every single day, and I have seen the bruises and heard you whine about the soreness, but you keep getting better at your sport!   So don’t give it up!  Keep having fun!

Although you sometimes admit to studying just before taking a test (we’ve all done it!), you still tend to amaze and do well!  Most of the time.  Tisk tisk!  Bad grades happen sometimes.  It’s all part of learning.  You did outstanding on your STAAR tests, excelling at the reading portion to be categorized as advanced, and that is pretty amazeballs!!!!  Your schedule next year looks ridiculously insane, but I know you can handle it!  You have a great brain (you’re welcome), and you just need to remember to keep your focus (it will be tough) and keep trudging onward.   You can do it!

When you play the guitar you sound amazing! You learn new songs and enjoy playing them, and the more you practice the better you get! You also make mama happy and proud hearing you play; especially when you play songs together!  That really makes her day!!!  You are incredibly gifted when it comes to painting and drawing, and I hope you never stop.  I know school and colorguard will make it difficult the next four years, but never give it up!  Sketch and paint whenever you get a chance.  It will always help clear your mind!

After listing that tiny amount of the awesomeness about you (because trust me, I could go on ALL night), I am going to get some sleep!  So, Madi girl, always remember how much you are loved!!!  Never forget that!!!!  I love you more than the Earth loves the Sun!!!!  Good night and sweet dreams!!!  You make me proud to be your mom, and you make life so much greater for the people around you who get to see that beautiful spirit of yours!!!  Keep shining your brightness everywhere you go!  You light up the hearts of all those who are lucky enough to be around you!  I love you, angel pie!  😘😘😘😘😘😘

And There Goes An Hour Of Sleep…

Everyone loves a good time change, am I right? Maybe in the Fall. In the Spring, not so much. A glorious hour of sleep will be lost at 2 am, and it won’t be back for a while. It’s ok though! I’m good with it! More daylight in the evenings! Woohoo!!! I am a full on sun worshipper, and I love being outside when it’s warm. I’ll be out there when it’s hot too, although pools and bodies of water make the Texas heat quite a bit more bearable. So, for more daytime, I’m down with losing that measly little hour! 🙂

I know I haven’t written much lately. My home was in the shop all this past week, and I have been house/pet sitting the last couple weeks. It’s always strange being in someone’s home, and I hate trying to find things! I love being able to borrow their kitchen and cook up some good grub, but I hate having to open their cabinets and drawers to find cutting boards and utensils and all that fun stuff that makes cooking a little easier. I am more than happy to help out though and take care of someone’s home and furry family members. It’s very nice having the freedom to be able to do that!

Today was a pretty good day! Met a good friend for coffee before the gym this morning. Trainer tried to kill me again! Although I am not happy with my progress. I mean, I can see the difference, and I can feel the difference, but I am disappointed in myself. My trainer is awesome, and it’s totally not him! Don’t misread that I am unhappy with my trainer at all!!! I just know I can do more, and I constantly have mental battles with myself, and my weaknesses keep winning out. Especially over the past couple weeks. I know I am not eating right. The weather has been shitty. My mood has been shitty because of the weather. I haven’t been happy. I have been very lazy. Very lazy! It’s just straight down a steep hill on the roller coaster, and I need to make my way back up again. I need to get my head back on straight. It’s just frustrating to know what I was capable of before, and I can’t even do a quarter of those things anymore, and I just feel weak. I know it’s a long process. I know I won’t see changes overnight. But ugh!!!

Anyway, enough of that! You don’t really want to read about my gym time anyway! Mini me and her fellow cadets had their last competition of the season today. It was the championships, and they got second place! They were only .3 points behind first place.
😦 They did so well though!!! They were incredibly awesome!!!! I’m so proud of her!!!!!!! I’m so happy she has found something she loves doing, and she’s so good at it!!! She practices her butt off, and it shows!!! I love watching her do colorguard!
Angel pie, I love you so much!!!! You make me proud!!!!

Well, I am super sleepy!!! So with that I am going to attempt to get some sleep! I might dream of, well, that’s none of your business. 😉 Sweet dreams…

My Car Is Lonesome Tonight…

Well, I haven’t been in my car since Friday morning. The weekend was spent at my mom’s with the munchkin. It was pretty uneventful, and Sunday was an awesome day of just lounging around and lazily enjoying the shitty weather. I am now residing at my dad’s for house/dog sitting through Friday. This actually works out quite well for the week. I will miss being in my car, but it will be nice to sleep in a place that remains heated throughout the night. I am quite sure my uvula thanks me. If you don’t get that reference you need to go back and read my past scribblings. Do it now!!!!! Just kidding! You can finish this one first. 😉

Didn’t get my workout in today due to my laziness, and I feel like a blob because of it. If the office is closed due to inclement weather, which I doubt, I’ll be making up for the lost gym time tomorrow. We shall see…

Finally watched the Dracula Untold movie. It was actually pretty frickin good! Loved the sweet twist at the end. Totally not being sarcastic right there. It was sweet. 🙂 After I cooked up some tasty chicken for dinner at dad’s, I rented a movie and was sadly disappointed. 😦 Dumb and Dumber To wasn’t nearly as funny as I thought it was going to be. I was so excited! It had been so long!!! On the bright side, it was much better than the prequel!!!! Dear God!!! I don’t know if I’ve seen a movie worse than that one! On second thought I probably have, but Dumb and Dumberer totally takes the absolutely awful and terrible award! Hands down!

I got to expose the mini me to my favorite Cable Guy scene today!!! A few weeks ago it was Billy Madison and the swan! Today it was the fight scene at Medieval Times! Of course I made her watch the Kirk and Spock fight scene first to understand the hilarity! Oh she got it all right! Now she knows why I start singing the fight music from that scene along with doing the prrrrrrrrrrrhah sound. If you have seen this scene, you know exactly what those letters sounded like in your head, and that’s all that matters.

On that note I am going to bed. I am sleepy. It is way past my bedtime! Good night and sweet dreams! 🙂
